On this best 5 days Morocco Desert tour from Fes, you’ll see several fabulous places and spend a magical night in the Sahara Desert ( you can choose between a standard camp and a luxury camp).
The adventure begins when we will pick you up at your Riad or your hotel in Fez at around 8:00 a.m. We will drive to Midelt through the Mountains and the Cedar forests of the breathtaking middle Atlas. We pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort town and Azrou, an important handicraft center specialized in the work of cedar wood. After travelling over the Zad pass (2,178m/7,146ft), we will have lunch in Midelt or around. In the afternoon, we will drive on to the small town of Erfoud via Errachidia and the Ziz Valley which is dotted with palm trees. Our day will end in the Desert town of Merzouga, where you will spend the evening in a hotel on the edge of the amazing dunes of the Sahara.
This morning after breakfast in the hotel. You will have a Desert tour around dunes on 4×4 allowing you to visit the black volcanic rocks of fossils, visit Nomad families living in a tent, then head to Khamlia village and entertainment of their spiritual music of Gnaoua, and visit the lake Dayte Sarji forms in springtime which attract pink flamingos and wildlife you will have a break for lunch in Merzouga or around. After lunch, you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located on the foot of the dunes Continue to your hotel for relaxation. Arrive at the hotel and get ready for the Camel trek for an hour and a half to enjoy the sunset. While on the back of your dromedary, you will continue to the camp for an overnight in a traditional Nomadic tent. Spend the night in a bivouac (Berber tent) in the middle of the dunes.
If you rise early enough, we are able to see the magnificence of sunrise, when the color of the dunes combines with the play of shadows to create a breathtaking scene. After breakfast, we ride camels for a couple of hours (or less, depending on your preference) before heading to Tinghir and Todra Gorges for lunch. This route crosses Tinjdad and the Todra Valley. This beautiful area offers numerous opportunities for walking, including along the river through the gardens and up the road on the other side of the gorge. We will then proceed to the Dades Valley and Dades Gorges before staying the night in a Riad.
After breakfast, we will travel through the beautiful Dades Valley until we reach the ancient Kasbahs beside the road, before continuing through the Valley of the Roses and the road of a thousand Kasbahs. On this journey, you can see incredible rocky landscapes and Kasbahs. We will have lunch near Kalaat M’Gouna, before driving through the palm groves of Skoura to the Kasbah of Amredele. We will arrive in Ouarzazate in the evening and spend the night in a Riad.
The entire day is spent touring Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt, Tifoultout, and the Cinema Studio. This is a world-famous location where you will be able to capture numerous stunning photographs. We will travel to the Enesco-protected Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and visit the surrounding traditional villages. In the evening, we will arrive in Marrakech after driving through the magnificent scenery of the Tichka Pass.
