On this best 4 days Morocco Desert tour from Fes, you’ll see several fabulous places and spend a magical night in the Sahara Desert ( you can choose between a standard camp and a luxury camp).
Today early morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Fes. We will travel through the middle Atlas via Ifrane “Moroccan Switzerland” and Azrou. You will have a stop at the Cedar forest for a visit to Cedre Goraud Tree where you will see Barbary apes. From here we drive further south pass by several towns and you will get the opportunity to view nomads living in tents next to the way. Our next stop will be in Midelt where you will enjoy your lunch. Later on, continuing our drive by crossing the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) while enjoying the panoramic views. You will also cross Ziz Gorge and the tunnel. Near Errachidia, you will see the dam (Barrage) Hassan Al-Dakhil which has turquoise blue water. Continuing our drive to Erfoud, you will have a stop for a panoramic view of Aoufous Palmeraie along Ziz River. Arriving at Erfoud and crossing the off-road to reach the hotel located on the foot of the dunes. Overnight in an Auberge (hotel).
Explore Erg Chebbi more deeply. We will visit the town of Khamlia a small village of dark skin people who were slaves before and now become Berbers as well and they share their culture in music called Gnaoua, we will have a chance to listen to and enjoy some music with them, we will discover small villages and inhabited houses in unexpected places dry areas like Mirdani and M’fis, far from civilization. We will also visit nomads who still live in the dry landscapes ‘Hamadas’ we will have a cup of tea with them to discover how they live and deal with life, after that we will drive back to Khamlia off-road where the rally Dakar passed in 2006, arrive Khamlia village at noon we will have Berber pizza then go back to the hotel for rest and prepare to camel trek adventure and night in Desert camp with Berber music and traditional dinner.
If you rise early enough, we are able to see the magnificence of sunrise, when the color of the dunes combines with the play of shadows to create a breathtaking scene. After breakfast, we ride camels for a couple of hours (or less, depending on your preference) before heading to Tinghir and Todra Gorges for lunch. This route crosses Tinjdad and the Todra Valley. This beautiful area offers numerous opportunities for walking, including along the river through the gardens and up the road on the other side of the gorge. We will then proceed to the Dades Valley and Dades Gorges before staying the night in a Riad.
After breakfast, we will travel through the villages of this picturesque region, passing Berber women’s fields and the highest points of the High Atlas as a backdrop. Our trip will then proceed toward Ouarzazate along the Roses Valley, which is well known for its May Rose Festival, and by the oasis kasbah of Skoura. Then comes Ouarzazate. We will visit the cinematographic museum and the At Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the filming location for numerous Hollywood spectacles. This is the most known kasbah in Morocco. From here, begin crossing Africa’s highest road point, Tizi N’Tichka. Arriving in the evening to Marrakech.
