In this best 3 days Morocco tour from Fes, (and back to Fes) you’ll see several fabulous places and spend a magical night in the Sahara Desert ( you can choose between a standard camp and a luxury camp).
Your adventure from Fes to Merzouga begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast, when we depart on a spectacular journey to Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco), passing through hills covered in forests of cork oak and huge cedar, which is home to a few Barbary primates (monkeys). We will pause to take photographs and feed the primates, and after crossing a gorgeous and tranquil pass over the Middle Atlas ranges, we will get our first view of the magnificent architecture of the south. Lunch in or around Midelt, accessed via a desolate plain and the Desert. The majestic forums of the High Atlas that rise behind the town provide a magnificent background. We go to Tizi-n-Talremt. We travel along the Ziz Valley into a desert plain. The crew will then head south to Erfoud, an enormous oasis with over six million palm trees and numerous ksour (fortified villages). When we reach Merzouga, we’ll be welcomed with a cup of mint tea after continuing along a remarkable route that indicates the transition to the desert. On our first night in a hotel next to the sand dunes in Merzouga Erg Chebbi, you will have the opportunity to trek in the sand dunes to catch the first sunset.
Explore Erg Chebbi more deeply. We will visit the town of Khamlia a small village of dark skin people who were slaves before and now become Berbers as well and they share their culture in music called Gnaoua, we will have a chance to listen to and enjoy some music with them, we will discover small villages and inhabited houses in unexpected places dry areas like Mirdani and M’fis, far from civilization. We will also visit nomads who still live in the dry landscapes ‘Hamadas’ we will have a cup of tea with them to discover how they live and deal with life, after that we will drive back to Khamlia off the road where the rally Dakar passed in 2006, arrive Khamlia village at noon we will have Berber pizza then go back to the hotel for rest and prepare to camel trek adventure and night in Desert camp with Berber music and traditional dinner.
In the Sahara Desert, rise early to catch the sunrise from atop the dune. After these breathtaking camel rides, you will have breakfast and a shower. We will travel to Errachidia through Erfoud, Aoufous, and the Ziz Valley, with a photo stop at the Hassan 2 dam in the Tafilalte region. Continue to Midelt. The Tizi N’talghamt pass, where we will pause to take photographs of the panorama and have lunch in Zaida or nearby. After lunch, we’ll drive to Fes (the ancient city) via the Cedar forest near Azrou and the mountain. of the middle Atlas, with the opportunity to see the eldest and largest tree of the Cedar forest, known as ‘Goraud’. Before arriving in Fes, you might pause in Ifrane for some leisure. At the conclusion of our 3 days Desert trip from Fez to Fez, we will return to Fes.
