In this best 3 days Morocco Desert trip/tour from Marrakech to Fes, you’ll see several fabulous places and spend a magical night in the Sahara Desert ( you can choose between a standard camp and a luxury camp).
We will pick you up from your Riad and travel via the Tizi-N-Ticha Pass (2260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco, through the High Atlas Mountains. Visit a number of Kasbahs en route, including Tamnougalte and Ait Ben Haddou, and enjoy stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains and their magnificent landscapes. The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the 16th century and one of Morocco’s best-preserved and most spectacular Kasbahs. In Ait Ben Haddou, scenes from the 2000 blockbuster hit movie Gladiator were filmed. Lunch in or around Ouarzazate. Before arriving at the Dades Gorges, we will enjoy the landscapes of Berber villages along the route. Overnight in Dades.
After breakfast, we will depart for Merzouga, where Morocco’s tallest sand dunes are located. The Desert team is willing to stop wherever you wish to take photos or wander for a while. After two hours of departing, we will reach the oasis of Tafilalet, which is famous in Morocco for its dates. Passing through small Berber villages en route to Merzouga/Erg Chebbi, where the camels will be waiting for us to explore the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, and where we will spend the night in a Berber Desert camp with dinner and Berber local music.
To catch the sunrise from atop the Chebbi sand dunes, it is advised to rise early in the morning. Then you will travel by camel to the Kasbah, where you will take a shower and enjoy a Berber breakfast served by welcoming Berbers. You will depart for Fez via the High Atlas Mountains after breakfast. Along the route, we will visit Rissani, Erfoud, Errachidia, and Medilt. We will pause for lunch and photographs of wild monkeys in the Cedar forests of Azrou before dropping you off at your Riad or hotel in Fez.
